Saldırıyla ilgili olarak Muğla İle Emniyet Müdürlüğü ve Menteşe İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü ekiplerinin çalışması sonucunda Menteşe Belediye Başkanı Gonca Köksal Aras'ın babaannesi ve dedesinin yaşadığı eve molotof kokteyli madde ile saldırı düzenlediği iddia edilen 2 çocuk yakalandı.

İddialara ve edinilen biglilere göre 15 yaşındaki M.C.Ç. ile 16 yaşındaki Y.D.K. polis ekiplerince gözaltına alınadarak emniyet müdürlüğüne götürüldü. Kamera görüntüelriyle şüphelilerin olay yerine geliş ve dönüş gürntülerine de ulaşan polis sorgusunu sürdürüyor ve azmettiriciyi belirleme çalışmasını sürdürüyor.

İddialara ve edinilen bilgilere göre Menteşe ilçesi Muslihittin Mahallesi Doğan Sokak’ta bulunan Çardak Apartmanı’nındaki bir daireye akşam saatlerinde molotof kokteylleri ile saldırı düzenlendi. Saldırı sırasında evin balkonunda küçük çaplı alevlenmeler oldu. Saldırganlar olay sonrası kaçarken mahalle sakinlerinin saldırıyı gerçekleştirenleri kovaladığı ancak yakalayamadıkları iddia edildi.

İddialara ve edinilen bilgilere göre Menteşe ilçesi Muslihittin Mahallesi Doğan Sokak’ta bulunan Çardak Apartmanı’nın önüne ticari taksi ile geln 2 kişi araçtan indikten sonra ellerindeki içinde yanıcı sıvılar bulunan şişeleri tutuşturup bir dairenin balkonuna fırlattı. Balkonda çıkan yangın, apartman sakinlerinin müdahalesiyle büyümeden söndürüldü.

Molotof kokteylli saldırı düzenlenen evde Menteşe Belediye Başkanı Gonca Köksal Aras’ın babaannesi ve dedesi Halit, Mevlüde Kazan'ın yaşadığı öğrenildi. Saldırıda herhangi bir yaralanma ya da can kaybı yaşanmadı.Olay yerinde plastik kolonya şişeleri bulundu. Menteşe İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü ekipleri delil toplama çalışması yaptı ve çevredeki güvenlik kameralarını incelemeye aldı. Kaçan saldırganların yakalanması için çalışma başlatıldı.

Muğla Büyükşehir Belediye başkanı Ahmet Aras saldıoryla ilgili açıoklama yayınladı. Açıklama şöyle;

"Bu akşam Menteşe Belediye Başkanımız, kıymetli eşim, Gonca Köksal Aras'ın ailesinin evine yapılan alçakça saldırı sonrasında; Sayın Valimiz, Sayın Başsavcımız ve Sayın İl Emniyet Müdürümüz başta olmak üzere; yanımızda olan, geçmiş olsun dileklerini ileten herkese teşekkür ederim. Bu alçakça saldırıyı azmettiren ve gerçekleştiren kişilerin en kısa sürede tespit edilerek yakalanacağına inanıyorum. Saldırıdan kısa bir süre önce balkon kapısının ve pencerelerinin kapatılması sayesinde yaralanma ve can kaybı yaşanmamış olması, en büyük tesellimiz. Olay anından itibaren üzüntümüzü paylaşan herkese tekrar, çok teşekkür ediyorum. Sağolun, var olun."

Muğla Valisi Dr. İdris Akbıyık saldırı ile ilgili olarak açıklama yayınladı. Açıklama şöyle;

"01.09.2025 günü saat 22:15 sıralarında, Menteşe İlçesi Muslihittin Mahallesinde Halit ve Mevlüde Kazan’ın (Menteşe Belediye Başkanı Gonca Köksal’ın büyükbabası ve babaannesi) ikamet ettiği konuta, kimliği belirsiz kişi veya kişilerce yanıcı bir madde atıldığı ihbarı üzerine olay yerine derhal polis ve itfaiye ekipleri sevk edilmiştir. Yapılan ilk incelemelerde herhangi bir yaralanmanın meydana gelmediği alevlerin vatandaşlarca söndürüldüğü tespit edilmiştir. Söz konusu konutta ve çevresinde olay yeri inceleme ekipleri tarafından detaylı araştırma ve delil toplama çalışmaları başlatılmıştır. Olayın faillerinin tespiti ve yakalanmasına yönelik olarak emniyet birimlerimizce geniş kapsamlı tahkikat titizlikle yürütülmektedir. Kamuoyuna saygı ile duyurulur."

Two suspects apprehended

Two children, who allegedly used a Molotov cocktail to attack the home of Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras's grandmother and grandfather, were apprehended following an operation by teams from the Muğla and Menteşe District Police Departments.

According to allegations and information received, 15-year-old M.C.Ç. and 16-year-old Y.D.K. were detained by police and taken to the police headquarters. Police, who have obtained security camera footage of the suspects arriving and returning from the scene, are continuing their questioning and are working to identify the instigator.

According to allegations and reports, an apartment in the Çardak Apartment building on Doğan Street in the Muslihittin neighborhood of Menteşe was attacked with Molotov cocktails in the evening hours. During the attack, small flames ignited on the balcony of the apartment. The attackers fled, and residents reportedly chased the attackers but were unable to apprehend them.

According to allegations and reports, two individuals arrived in front of the Çardak Apartment building on Doğan Street in the Muslihittin neighborhood of Menteşe in a taxi, got out, ignited bottles containing flammable liquids, and threw them onto the balcony of an apartment. The fire, which broke out on the balcony, was extinguished before it could spread thanks to the intervention of residents.

It was learned that Halit and Mevlüde Kazan, the paternal grandparents of Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, lived in the house where the Molotov cocktail attack took place. There were no injuries or casualties. Plastic cologne bottles were found at the scene. Menteşe District Police Department teams collected evidence and examined security cameras in the area. An operation has been launched to apprehend the attackers, who fled.

Following the vile attack on the home of our esteemed Mayor of Menteşe, the family of my esteemed wife, Gonca Köksal Aras, this evening, I would like to thank everyone who stood by us and offered their condolences, especially our esteemed Governor, Chief Prosecutor, and Provincial Police Chief. I believe that the instigators and perpetrators of this vile attack will be identified and apprehended as soon as possible. Our greatest consolation is that thanks to the balcony door and windows being closed shortly before the attack, there were no injuries or casualties. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has shared our sorrow since the incident. Thank you, may you be with us.

Statement from the Governor of Muğla

Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık released a statement regarding the attack. The statement is as follows:

On September 1, 2025, at approximately 10:15 PM, police and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene following a report that an unidentified person or persons had thrown a flammable substance at the residence of Halit and Mevlüde Kazan (the grandfather and grandmother of Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal) in the Muslihittin neighborhood of the Menteşe district. Initial investigations revealed that no injuries were reported and that the flames were extinguished by citizens. Crime scene investigation teams have launched a detailed investigation and evidence collection efforts at and around the residence. A comprehensive investigation is being meticulously conducted by our security units to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of the incident. This is respectfully announced to the public.
